Twister!
Ok, we've survived our first Oklahoma tornado. There was a tornado just a few miles north of us this afternoon. It's not really tornado season right now, but I guess that didn't matter. I heard the sirens, so I thought I'd better turn on the TV to see what was wrong. They had a helicopter following it (is that smart?), so the girls and I got to see it live. It doesn't look like it did too much damage, but it did remind me to teach the girls a little tornado safety. When we were looking at houses, a large percentage of them had shelters.
So, now we've survived the scorpions, black widow, and now a tornado. (Ooops! Did I forget to post pictures of our black widow experience? I'll try to do that soon.) We really are enjoying ourselves here in Oklahoma.

I've been working so hard on the kitchen remodel, that I have been neglecting things like laundry and brushing girls' hair. Kezzi doesn't look too bad here, but she gets worse as the day goes on! Notice the bare cement slab under her, and the bag of toilet repair kits to her left... lots of work to do!
In the past week, we have completely torn out the old kitchen, and all the carpet in the dining area, living room and hall. We have put down ceramic tile in the kitchen and inside the front door. We're planning to make one of our daily trips to Home Depot this morning to pick up cabinets, then that's our next big project. Hopefully we will be able to move in sometime soon!

Goodbye cockroaches, Hello Scorpions!!
We just moved from Mississippi (land of the giant cockroaches) to Oklahoma. We were told to wear shoes in the yard, because of the scorpions. Well, we met our first one Monday night, walking down the hallway at bedtime. Tuesday night, there was another one! (definitely another one... i spent a lot of time smashing the first one!)
